Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made a small splash when he struck a deal with the Houston Texans for former second-round pick John Metchie III.

That trade may serve as an appetizer before a main course, according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

Schultz tweeted, "Text from an AFC GM: 'Don’t think Eagles are done with trades. They have so many picks next year, and that team is always gonna be aggressive.'”

The Eagles currently have 10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, plus a projected three compensatory picks. They will have five picks in the first three rounds (1, 2, 3, 3, 3) and six more picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, combined.

The star players on the trade block appear to be Micah Parsons, Trey Hendrickson, and Terry McLaurin. The Eagles seem unlikely to trade for McLaurin after just trading for another receiver in Metchie. And even if they still had interest in a receiver, the Commanders are unlikely to trade within the division. Same for the Cowboys with Parsons.

But Hendrickson would make some sense, considering the Eagles are thin at edge rusher after the retirement of Brandon Graham and departure of Josh Sweat in free agency. Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are projected to start, although neither has a long history of production in the NFL.

The Eagles also signed Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari to cheap deals in free agency, although neither player has asserted himself as a likely difference-maker. Perhaps Roseman will look to make a big splash for Hendrickson.
