Kicker Jake Elliott has had a very shaky season for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025 and his issues have now bled into the playoffs.

After the Eagles scored on their first offensive series of the wild-card game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Elliott doinked the extra point, which kept the Eagles trailing, 7-6.

During the regular season, Elliott missed seven field goals and one extra point, with most of his struggles coming in the second half of the season.

Despite his issues, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has expressed confidence in his kicker.

“A lot of confidence in Jake,” he said of Elliott. “I love the roster the way it is and like I said, I have a ton of confidence in him with Jake and that he'll rebound from whatever setbacks that he has.”

Elliott has traditionally been clutch in the postseason, so his miss on Sunday is no doubt a bad omen for Philadelphia.

That missed extra point could loom very large later in the contest.
