Fantasy start or sit Week 17: Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert image

The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills will meet for a potential Super Bowl preview in Week 17, and running back Saquon Barkley, wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and tight end Dallas Goedert will be in the lineup for Philadelphia.

Though the Eagles' offense has struggled at times this year, the unit's playmakers have still been solid fantasy options.

However, are Barkley, Brown, Smith, and Goedert worth of starting in your lineup in Week 17? Let's take a look.

Saquon Barkley start or sit advice

Barkley isn't as dominant as he was in 2024. However, the star running back is still having a nice season with 1,072 rushing yards and seven touchdowns entering Week 17.

Barkley is the RB 13 overall this year, but he's been better in recent weeks, ranking as the RB5 since Week 14.

Not only has Barkley been hot lately, but he also has a favorable matchup this week. Buffalo's defense is allowing the fourth-most points to running backs in 2025.

Though Barkley has taken a step back this season, he's in for a big day in Week 17.

Verdict: Start

A.J. Brown start or sit advice

Like Barkley, Brown is having a down year by his standards, but has been better as of late.

Since Week 12, Brown ranks as the WR3 and has been getting targeted much more after a slow start to the season. The Ole Miss product has posted four touchdowns in the last five games.

Brown does have a tough matchup this week, as the Bills are allowing the eighth fewest points to receivers in 2025. However, that shouldn't stop you from starring the red-hot Brown.

Verdict: Start

DeVonta Smith start or sit advice

Smith has been inconsistent this season, but is still closing in on another 1,000-yard season.

Entering Week 17, Smith is the WR33, but he's been quiet since Brown's emergence. Though the Alabama product is always a threat and a reliable playmaker for Jalen Hurts, Buffalo doesn't allow many points to receivers, and it's unlikely that both Eagles receivers have big days.

Brown has had the hot hand lately, so starting him makes more sense.

Verdict: Sit

Dallas Goedert start or sit advice

Goedert has been a touchdown machine, hauling in ten scores in 2025 and three touchdowns in the last two weeks.

Since Week 14, Goedert is the TE4. The veteran is the Eagles' primary red-zone pass-catcher and has improved as the season has gone on.

However, Goedert does have a tough matchup in Week 17, as the Bills are allowing the least amount of points to tight ends.  Though he is always a threat to score a touchdown, his hot streak will come to an end this week.

Verdict: Sit
