Eagles veteran’s retirement decision gets update from NFL insider image

With the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2025 NFL season in the rearview, a team legend has a lot to think about.

Brandon Graham entered last year’s offseason contemplating retirement. As he stood in front of a sea of Eagles fans following his second Super Bowl parade, Graham was expected to call it a career publicly. He chose to keep the decision on his future a mystery.

Eventually, Graham did call it a career. He chose to kickstart a media career instead of firing up year 16 back in September. Eventually, he changed course.

Will Graham officially call it a career in 2026? An NFL Insider shed some light on the situation over the weekend.

Via @MikeGarafolo: Spoke to Brandon Graham briefly last night. He’ll take time to think but don’t assume that’s it for his career. His body responded well and he felt he was just getting into a groove down the stretch. He turns 38 in April but had the look and sound of a guy that has football left.

As the Eagles approached their bye week, Graham informed the team he would be willing to return. Seeing the Eagles could use some help in the depth department up front on defense, the veteran saw it as an opportunity to help give the Eagles a proper push ahead of their eventual playoff run.

Graham appeared in nine games down the stretch. He registered eight tackles, two of which were for a loss. He got three hits on the quarterback and produced three sacks. It took some time to get going, but once Graham settled in, it was clear he still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Last Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers potentially served as Graham’s final. The Eagles came up short in the Wild Card Round, leaving the questions about Graham’s future relevant once again.

It’s unclear if Graham would consider a change of scenery—or if his he’s in an Eagles-or-retire mindset—but if the Eagles have a desire to bring back the 37-year-old pass rusher to be a vocal leader and a depth piece, they have a legitimate shot at doing so.
