Eagles receive: No. 31 pick

Chiefs receive: No. 32 pick, No. 164 pick

With the 31st pick, the Eagles chose Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. pointed out that half the Eagles' starters are from the SEC. Howie Roseman has a type.

Campbell is a tackling machine. He racked up 117 takedowns in his final season at Alabama, including 12 tackles for loss.

He also had an interception in each of the past two seasons.

Most mock drafts projected Campbell to go in the top-20. That included NFL.com's latest mock having Campbell going all the way up at No. 11.

Going with the 31st pick ends up being a bargain for the Eagles.

Philadelphia will be seeking a return to the Super Bowl to try and defend its title. Campbell will be a big help.

Campbell first committed to Clemson out of high school, but he eventually found his way to the Crimson Tide, and now he's going to Philadelphia.
