Eagles superstar hints at upcoming retirement after potentially tying record image

Lane Johnson knows he won't be around forever.

“I still feel young in heart, but you can’t ignore Father Time," Johnson said on NFL Network. "I’m still having fun and enjoying what I do. I love being around the guys, competing and it’s just something that I really love doing every minute of it.”

Johnson was speaking in the context of having a chance to set a Philadelphia Eagles record.

The All-Pro offensive tackle is under contract through 2027. And if he makes it that long, it'll mark 15 seasons with the Eagles.

That would tie Brandon Graham for the most seasons played for Philadelphia in franchise history.

“Yeah, if there’s anybody to end a tie with, it would be BG. It’s crazy that we had a number of guys who all stayed together for all these years," Johnson said.

Johnson has been as advertised after the Eagles took him No. 4 overall in 2013.

He has 158 career starts and two Super Bowl rings to go with two times on the first-team All-Pro.

Johnson isn't going anywhere soon, but it does sound like he's started to think about what the future might hold. At 35 years old, the offensive lineman will eventually hang up his cleats, but probably not before at least a few more strong seasons.
