Kirk Cousins is making a lot of money to be a backup quarterback right now for the Atlanta Falcons behind Michael Penix Jr.
There's a wild scenario, though, where Cousins can add $8 million to his already hefty payday.
You see, Cousins has an $8 million incentive in his contract that would be activated if he leads the Falcons to a Super Bowl victory.
He also has to play at least 50% of the season snaps to earn that payday, according to Spotrac.
So how's that for a wild possibility? Penix either struggles a ton or is benched, then the 36-year old Cousins returns to the starting job as a hero and rolls all the way to the Lombardi Trophy.

It's highly unlikely, of course. Cousins threw a league-worst 16 interceptions in 2024, resulting in his benching for the rookie Penix.
Then, Cousins went on the show Quarterback and said he was "misled" before the Falcons took Penix in the draft after signing the veteran to a free agent contract.
But all would be forgiven, and then some, if Cousins pulled off a Super Bowl miracle.
And he'd be $8 million richer, too.
