The Philadelphia Eagles will be looking for a third consecutive win when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills on Sunday.
Unfortunately, they’ll have to compete in the contest without a couple of key contributors.
Nakobe Dean, Lane Johnson ruled out for Week 17 game vs. Bills
Linebacker Nakobe Dean (hamstring) and offensive tackle Lane Johnson (foot) have both been ruled out of the game.
Rookie Jihaad Campbell will likely slide into the starting spot in Dean's absence, while Fred Johnson will continue to fill in for Lane.
Other Philadelphia Eagles news: Eagles' Saquon Barkley makes bold claim about Nick Sirianni
Johnson has missed the past several games for Philadelphia while Dean was injured against the Washington Commanders in Week 16. Now we might not see either guy again until the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, as there’s a good chance that the Eagles won’t play their starters against the Commanders in Week 18.
There was some speculation that the Eagles would rest some key contributors in Buffalo after clinching the NFC East, but head coach Nick Sirianni made it clear that isn’t his plan.
"You go through a lot of different processes, and you do what you think is best for your football team,” Siriani said. “We think playing our guys is best for the football team."
So that means while Johnson and Dean won't be out on the field this weekend, all of Philadelphia's other available starters should be.
