One of the major questions facing the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason is what they plan to do with star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Brown’s name has popped up in trade rumors for the better part of the past year, and some have suggested that it’s finally time for Philadelphia to move on from the mercurial pass-catcher, especially following his underwhelming performance in the team’s 23-19 Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Brown had a career-high two drops in the contest.
Eagles predicted to trade A.J. Brown to Patriots
Moving on from Brown would be a difficult decision for Philadelphia, as he’s still a very productive player and an elite receiver. However, doing so could also potentially net them some serious draft capital.
Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report predicts that the Eagles will flip Brown to the New England Patriots over the offseason in exchange for three draft picks, including a first and third-rounder in 2026 and another third-rounder in ’27.
“That arms race could be a major offseason through line, but the Patriots have more resources to assemble the best offer for the Eagles receiver. With 11 draft picks and $54 million in cap space, New England could comfortably come up with a package that would put Brown in pass-heavy offense with ascending quarterback Drake Maye,” Ballentine wrote.

“The move would put pressure on other AFC contenders to get aggressive to keep up with the Pats while shifting the Eagles offense in Philly.”
So far, there has been no indication from Philadelphia’s front office that they want to move on from Brown after four seasons. However, the offseason just started for Philadelphia, so there could be some major developments in the coming weeks.
When asked if he hoped Brown would be back in an Eagles uniform next season after their season ended, star quarterback Jalen Hurts said that he and Brown were in a good place, but stopped short of saying anything else.
“A.J. And I have talked,” Hurts said. “We’re in a good, great place. Y’all can talk to him and ask.”
Media members weren’t able to talk to Brown after the season, as the star receiver left the locker room before speaking to media after the team’s loss to San Francisco. Perhaps that's a sign about how he feels about his future in Philadelphia.
