The Philadelphia Eagles are set to begin defending their Super Bow championship in less than two weeks when they'll host the Dallas Cowboys in the opening contest of the season on September 4th. However, they will be without one of their pass-catchers for Week 1, and the rest of the season.
Johnny Wilson suffered an injury during practice on Tuesday, which was revealed to be require surgery to his knee and ankle that will end his season.
"WR Johnny Wilson will undergo season-ending surgery on his knee and ankle after suffering the injury at practice on Tuesday, NFL sources said," Jeff McLane reports on X.
The Eagles acquired former second-round pick wide receiver John Metchie from the Houston Texans on August 17th. The injury to Wilson will likely mean more reps for the Alabama product.
Wilson was drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and caught five passes in his rookie season.
