Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy doesn’t seem to have a single ounce of worry when it comes to his former team’s Wild Card matchup this Sunday.
As the Eagles are coming off of what became a controversial loss against the Washington Commanders, McCoy cannot be found on the side of those criticizing Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni for his decision to sit the starters for the regular season finale.
“We don't care,” McCoy said. “Other teams you talked about, they are playing for something—first seed, they playing for divisional championships. We got the division. We won that championship. What's next?”
With a win and a Chicago Bears loss on Sunday, the Eagles could’ve locked up the NFC’s second seed behind the Seattle Seahawks. It would’ve secured home games for the first two rounds at least.
The Bears lost to the Detroit Lions, setting the Eagles up for an opportunity secure that home-field advantage, but their backups couldn’t seal the deal. If the Eagles advance to the Divisional Round, a matchup against the Bears would take place in Chicago—not Philadelphia.
Home-field is obviously an advantage for most teams, but McCoy doesn’t take too much stock in that. Like Sirianni, he felt the additional rest was the right move.
“We are defending champs,” McCoy continued. “Let's get healthy, right? Been a long season. Let's get our offense back together. Let's get the mental part right. Let's get physically ready to play. Got the playoffs coming up. So I don't mind that. I don't mind how my head coach runs his show, because my thing is, who we playing? That's all that matters. Line them up and we'll beat them.”

The Eagles enter the playoffs with an 11-6 record. The 49ers were one game better with a 12-5 finish. Yet, Philadelphia will enter the matchup as favorites, with McCoy confident as ever.
“We ain’t worried about the Niners! You see the way they looked last game? We're not worried about the Niners,” the Eagles legend finished. “Niners or Green Bay, whoever it was, we're just gonna beat them anyway. Listen, man, the championship goes to Philadelphia. I know that, and so does Nick Sirianni. We ain't tripping. We don't care.”
The Eagles and the 49ers will kick off on Sunday at 4:30 PM ET.
