Eagles' Kevin Patullo situation gets a major update from NFL insider image

The Philadelphia Eagles have dropped the ball in the first round of the NFL Playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.

Going from a Super Bowl-winning season to being a one-and-done, many are assuming that there could be some major changes coming from Philly’s side. All eyes will certainly be on the offensive side of the ball, as the lead coordinator, Kevin Patullo, has been under fire all year long.

NFL Insider Drops a Key Update

ESPN’s Adam Schefter went on Get Up on Monday morning to discuss the expectations for the Eagles from across the league.

With the loss still fresh, the update doesn’t sound so positive for Patullo.

"When you speak to people around the league, they expect there to be mass changes there to jump-start the offense," Schefter said. "So, you're looking at a new offensive coordinator next year, that's the expectation there across the league."

Patullo, a first-time offensive coordinator, took on a job that came with some heavy pressure in a market that demands big results immediately.

Zooming out and looking at the season as a whole, it was clear that the Eagles couldn’t find balance as they were consistently struggling on the offensive side of the ball.

Every player from every unit, ranging from Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown, has taken their fair share of hits throughout the season. But ultimately, it boils down to Patullo looking like the cause of the issue.

The Eagles will be expected to make some key changes. While they don’t seem to be trending towards making a head coaching change, Patullo will certainly have all eyes on him this week, as the Eagles’ offense failed to flip a switch and come alive against the 49ers in the postseason.
