The Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl defense starts now.

On Thursday night, the Eagles will play in the NFL's curtain raiser that gets Week 1 underway. They take on divisional rival Dallas as the Cowboys try to spoil Philly's party right out of the gates.

The Eagles will be about as close to full strength as can be, which is great news.

Their final injury report came out Wednesday afternoon, and four of the five names on the list were marked as full participants ahead of Thursday's game:

  • Jalen Carter, shoulder
  • Landon Dickerson, back
  • Andrew Mukuba, hamstring
  • Joshua Uche, groin

Dickerson was the biggest question mark of that group. The guard is a Pro Bowler and is a big piece of the Eagles' dominant offensive line. But he's all good to go.

Carter anchors the interior of Philly's defensive line and will try to disrupt the Dallas offense.

Mukuba is a rookie safety who had a pick-six during the preseason.

Uche is a veteran linebacker who will help as the Eagles try to replace a lot of players on the defensive side of the ball.

The only player who did not practice, and has been ruled out, is Tanner McKee.

McKee was expected to be the backup quarterback to Jalen Hurts this season, and likely still be when he returns, but he's out with a right thumb injury.

The Eagles traded for Sam Howell late in the summer with McKee's injury in mind. Howell will be QB2 for the season opener.

It's a good dose of positive health news for the Eagles, and now it's just about time for them to start their march back toward the Super Bowl.
