The Philadelphia Eagles are in search of a new offensive coordinator.

Kevin Patullo was let go on Tuesday afternoon, and the NFL world is still waiting for the Eagles’ list of preferred replacements to reach the public.

There have been a couple of early reports, suggesting some big names. While the former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll hasn’t been linked to the Eagles' job just yet, he has gained some early support from Philly-based analysts.

Fran Duffy of PHLY spoke on the idea of the Eagles considering the ex-Giants coach.

“He has a proven track record as an offensive coordinator and a play designer in the NFL,” Duffy said on Tuesday.

“I think he did great work with that one Daniel Jones year in New York. To me, it’s more about what he did with Josh Allen and Buffalo. They were able to orchestrate some good offenses before that run game really took hold in Buffalo. … I think that what he was able to do in terms of, you know, being a runner and leaning into [Josh Allen’s] legs a little bit. That’s something that he has had a history of.”

Daboll started working exclusively with NFL quarterbacks in 2007. He coached with the New York Jets before landing his first offensive coordinator job with the Cleveland Browns in 2009.

Since then, Daboll has run offenses for the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, Alabama, and the Buffalo Bills. He was hired by the Giants in 2022.

Daboll’s four-year run with the Eagles’ rival ended after 10 games in 2025. The Giants moved on after they started the season 2-8. Daboll left New York, winning just 33 percent of his games.

The former Giants coach has a strong track record with quarterbacks in the NFL. His most-talked-about stretch was his work with Josh Allen on the Bills.

Allen and Hurts both fall under the dual-threat category. In Patullo’s system, Hurts ran 105 times, marking his lowest total rushes in a single season since his rookie year. He has rushed at least 150 times since his sophomore effort.

Daboll is an intriguing name, considering he helped Allen develop into an MVP-caliber quarterback. Hurts is a proven star in the NFL, earning two Pro Bowl nods and winning Super Bowl MVP last season. He might’ve had a down year, but with the right OC, Hurts could have the Eagles’ offense back on a positive path.
