The Philadelphia Eagles close out the regular season on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
It's Week 18, a time when some teams have everything to play for and others not that much.
For the Eagles, there is a bit to worry about, but maybe not as much as Philly fans would like.
Because of that, head coach Nick Sirianni seems primed to sit some of the stars, most notably QB Jalen Hurts.
MORE: Breaking down what NFL games matter today
Does the Eagles game matter today?
Yes, the Eagles' game matters, but only a little bit.
The Eagles are currently the NFC's No. 3 seed but could still ascend to the 2-seed.
The Eagles would be No. 2 if they win against the Commanders and the Chicago Bears lose to the Detroit Lions.
The 2-seed would mean hosting the Packers next week to open the playoffs.
The 3-seed would host either the 49ers (if the Rams win on Sunday) or the Rams, if they lose on Sunday to the Cardinals.
That's not enough for the Eagles to risk injury to their best players.
So at quarterback, Tanner McKee gets the call, and others like Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith may sit, too.
