Chicago native Pope Leo XIV receives Philadelphia Eagles gift celebrating Super Bowl win image

The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of superfans amongst a passionate fanbase that spans the world, and one of them could be the biggest name in the Catholic Church.

Pope Leo XIV was recently revealed as the newest pope to take the reigns of the church, and despite growing up in Chicago the religious figure has spent many years in Philadelphia.

The pope has been seen at major sporting events over the years, including his famous photo at the 2005 World Series when his beloved Chicago White Sox won the championship.

However, Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Jesus Pérez recently visited the pope at the Vatican and delivered a special Eagles gift to celebrate their Super Bowl title.

Pope Leo gladly accepted an Eagles hat from the Archbishop, however, it's clear he won't be wearing it any time soon because of his allegiances to his favorite Chicago sports teams.

"He was very happy when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. He rejoiced with those of us from Philly," Augustinian Father Joe Farrell said.
