The Philadelphia Eagles are the team to beat in the NFL heading into the 2025 NFL season, and while the entire league is still talking about their dysfunctional division rivals after the earth-shattering Micah Parsons trade there are several quality NFC foes that can challenge the Birds.
While general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni have positioned the Eagles to not only be NFC contenders again this season, but also Super Bowl challengers, the NFC does have a growing list of teams that can make a deep run in the playoffs.
These five teams, in particular, could pose the biggest threats to the Eagles come January if they were to meet in the postseason.

Green Bay Packers
The entire NFL is still trying to gather its thoughts about the Packers seemingly pulled off one of the more lopsided trades in recent league history after bringing in Parsons. Additionally, the Packers have the youngest team in the NFL, which includes quarterback Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs and rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden.
If Matt LeFleur and his team can fend for themselves in a competitive NFC North there's no telling what kind of challenge they can give Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in the playoffs.
Detroit Lions
Dan Campbell's team suffered the most injuries of any team in the league heading into the playoffs last season, especially on the defensive side of the football. With elite weapons across their offense, the Lions are poised for a big comeback in 2025 as they look to finally get over their playoff struggles.
San Francisco 49ers
Similar to the Lions, the 49ers have talent across their offense and the return of Christian McCaffrey offers San Francisco a massive spark in the run game. Kyle Shanahan's team has been to the Super Bowl several times in recent years, and once their wide receiving weapons come back it offers Brock Purdy a lot more dangerous options to put a scare into the NFC.
Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders are a year older together and that's a scary proposition for the Eagles and the rest of the conference. While Philly handles Washington easily in the NFC Championship Game a season ago, it's only going to get tougher to dispatch of the young star in future campaigns, especially as the team develops more offensive weapons alongside him.
Los Angeles Rams
Out of all the teams the Eagles faced in the postseason in 2024, the Rams gave Sirianni and the Birds the biggest scare with their late-game comeback. The reality is that Matthew Stafford isn't getting any younger and Sean McVay and his team need to capitalize on their talent while the quarterback continues to lead the team.
Bringing in Davante Adams was a massive lift for a wide receiver group that already features Puka Nacua, but with a stout running game as well the Rams can certainly make a Super Bowl push after their 2021 victory.
