Taylor Swift as the Super Bowl halftime show performer? It's not a crazy idea.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gave real credence to the concept when he appeared on "Today" on Wednesday.
Goodell was asked whether Swift could be the next halftime performer at the Super Bowl.
"We would always love to have Taylor play," Goodell said. "She is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time."
Goodell eventually conceded that "maybe" something was already in the works.
Swift has had a gigantic fanbase for a long time, but she's moved more into NFL circles in the last couple of years thanks to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce.

Kelce recently proposed to Swift, and now they're engaged to be married.
Swift often attends Kelce's games, and they have attended other sporting events together - most recently the Nebraska vs. Cincinnati college football game that was played in Kansas City.
A Swift halftime show would have the potential to be the most-hyped halftime in Super Bowl history. The discussions about which songs she might pick, and the follow-up analysis of her performance, would generate massive interest across the music world.
And can you imagine if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl?
Kelce wouldn't leave the locker room to watch, would he? Shoot, why not? Those halftimes are so long anyway, it'd be a bit of a chance to stretch and move around and watch his superstar future wife do her thing.
There's still work to be done on this decision, it sounds like, but the fact that Swift is a possibility at all is a huge deal.
