Who plays on 'Sunday Night Football' tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule for NFL Week 5 game image

There was a lot of anticipation surrounding "Sunday Night Football" in Week 4, when Tom Brady and the Buccaneers returned to Gillette Stadium to face Bill Belichick the Patriots.

That said, Week 5's "Sunday Night Football" matchup may be even better. Fans and viewers are being treated to a rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship Game.

Two of the best young quarterbacks in football, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, will look to lead their respective teams to victory. The Chiefs are sitting only at .500, but they snapped a two-game losting stream with a win over the Eagles last week. They won 42-30, but their defense continued to inspire little confidence.

The Bills and Sean McDermott will be motivated to earn Buffalo a key win over Kansas City. They spent their offseason looking for players that could help stymie the Chiefs, so this is a big chance for them as they look to contend.

Below is more about the Week 5 matchup, plus everything to know about how to watch "Sunday Night Football."

Who plays on 'Sunday Night Football' tonight?

  • Matchup: Bills at Chiefs
  • Location: Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

The Bills and the Chiefs are squaring off in a rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship Game in Week 5. The Chiefs have won their last two meetings agianst the Bills, including a 14-point victory to advance to the Super Bowl last January.

Kansas City has posted a 2-2 record to begin the season. Their defense is struggling immensely, so they will need to be ready to contain a Buffalo offense that possesses a plethora of pass-catching weapons. However, the Bills may not be built to take advantage of the Chiefs' weakness against the run.

Meanwhile, Buffalo is 3-1 on the season and has won their last three games by a combined score of 118-21. That includes two shutouts against the Dolphins (35-0) and Texans (40-0).

Of course, the Bills have played a weak quartet of quarterbacks so far this year. They have faced the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Taylor Heinicke, Davis Mills and the tag team of Tua Tagovailoa and Jacoby Brissett. Patrick Mahomes will provide them their first real test of the season as Buffalo looks to earn revenge and take another step forward.
