By all accounts, Sauce Gardner woke up Tuesday morning believing he would be wearing New York Jets green and facing the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Instead, he travelled all the way to Berlin and put on an Indianapolis Colts uniform for the first time.

Gardner picked up a win in his Colts debut, as Indianapolis edged out the Atlanta Falcons 31-25 in overtime. While the Colts have started to grow accustomed to winning this season, it was Gardner's first win as an active player this season -- he didn't play in the Jets' only victory.

While Gardner himself had a mostly quiet day, he came through with a pass breakup in the second half to force a three-and-out. The pass from Michael Penix Jr. Was nearly picked off. Gardner, who sometimes struggled to turn pass breakups into interceptions with the Jets, certainly reacted as though he believed he should have snagged it. Still, the moment was a sign of what might be to come once Gardner settles into the defense.

Gardner recorded six tackles in addition to the pass breakup. While reports indicated he would travel around the field with Falcons WR Drake London, he spent most of the day away from London before starting to follow him around a bit more in the fourth quarter after the fourth-year receiver reached 100 yards on the day.

The Colts brought Gardner in for more than just one game or one season, but they will hope his presence has a major impact down the stretch as they try to maintain their spot at the top of the AFC.

Sauce Gardner updates, highlights from NFL Germany game

All time eastern.

12:13 p.m. — It looks like Gardner is starting to follow London around as the Falcons' fourth-year receiver continues to be the one Atlanta weapon that can't be stopped.

11:30 a.m. — Gardner nearly intercepted Michael Penix on third down and certainly looked like he should've had it. Still, it's his first pass deflection as a Colt and forces a punt.

10:42 a.m. — The Colts don't have Gardner on London, and the results have not been great. London beats LB Germaine Pratt for a touchdown.

10:22 a.m. — Gardner has three tackles on the day, but he hasn't seen too much action. The biggest reason is the time of possession disparity: Atlanta has had the ball for less than seven of the first 19 minutes.

10:13 a.m. — Gardner does not seem to be shadowing Drake London today, despite some speculation he would.

9:10 a.m. — Your first look at Sauce Gardner on game day.
