The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly adding a running back to their roster via trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are acquiring running back Tank Bigsby from Jacksonville in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick.

A former third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2023, Bigsby has tallied 223 carries for 910 yards and nine touchdowns while adding eight receptions for 60 yards over 34 games since entering the league.

The move to acquire Bigsby comes days after Philly's RB2, Will Shipley, suffered a rib injury in the season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys. This trade might be a sign Shipley is set to miss time.

Bigsby once looked like he might become the Jags' lead back of the future after he clearly outplayed Travis Etienne last season. Bigsby finished with 766 rushing yards on 168 rushes (4.6 yards per carry) and found pay dirt seven times.

However, it was Etienne who was the clear lead back for the Jags in Week 1 after getting 16 carries and exploding for 143 yards. Meanwhile, Bigsby had just five carries for 12 yards.

Along with that, the Jags also drafted Bhayshul Tuten in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft, which further hurt Bigsby's chances of having a significant role.
