Football isn't back. But it will be in a precious few months. For the millions of acolytes who crave the gridiron like air, that's only a good thing.

The regular season tends to be a grueling tilt. With 17 matches in 18 weeks, the schedule can bog down even the most gifted talents.

But under the gleam of primetime, everyone wants to come out on top.

There are more than 50 fixtures slated to get primetime treatment in 2025. Amazon Prime, NBC and ESPN will handle the whole of that tally, with each platform hoping to cultivate a unique view of America's Game.

The 2025 campaign will kick off with a flourish, with hated rivals the Eagles and Cowboys set to lock horns in the regular season opener. Over the next 18 weeks, fireworks will ensue. A great many of them will be available to watch nationally.

This year's primetime schedule isn't written in stone. Flex games will likely come to fruition as the season reaches its crescendo. But for now, here's a look at the list of primetime fixtures for the 2025 regulars season.

Thursday Night Football schedule 2025

  • Start time: 8:20 p.m. ET
  • Live stream: Amazon Prime Video

For the fourth straight year, NFL action will be available on Amazon Prime. Al Michaels will lead the coverage, while Kirk Herbstreit will offer occasional musings as the event's color commentator.

Al Michaels will be back calling play-by-play with ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit providing analysis alongside him in the booth.

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will lead ESPN's "Monday Night Football" coverage for a fourth season, with the former serving as broadcasts' play-by-play man and the latter lending an analytical eye to proceedings.

Per usual, MNF will take on a few doubleheaders over the course of the season. For those select weeks, games will be split on ABC and ESPN. Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick and Chris Fowler were enlisted to helm the B-team during various weeks last year. They might take on a similar role in 2025, too.
