The NFL's best individual performers were rewarded for their 2019 contributions with Pro Bowl nominations on Tuesday.

Lamar Jackson was named the AFC's starting quarterback, while Russell Wilson received that honor for the NFC. The Ravens equaled the all-time record for Pro Bowl nods with 12.

Eighty-eight players will participate in the event in total, though a handful of the initial nominees will miss out due to postseason obligations, giving alternates the chance to step in.

Biggest Pro Bowl snubs 2020

While it seems the quarterbacks chosen were mostly appropriate, Cowboys fans could perhaps claim Dak Prescott (26 TDs to 11 INTs) deserved a spot, particularly if he winds up leading a messy Dallas team to the playoffs. That said, it's extremely difficult to make a convincing case Prescott belonged over Brees, Rodgers or Wilson. It's a bit unfair, then, to label Prescott a snub.

At running back, Raiders rookie Josh Jacobs (1,150 rushing yards) and Aaron Jones (14 rushing touchdowns) were possibly in the Pro Bowl on some fan lists. Instead, they barely missed the cut.

Elsewhere, Saints tackle Ryan Ramczyk, Packers linebacker Za’Darius Smith and Broncos safety Justin Simmons had strong cases.
