POWER RANKINGS: Chiefs, Lions, Chargers tumble; Broncos join Rams, Eagles in top tier for Week 12
NFL picks against the spread for Week 12
Game of Midweek: Bills (-4.5, 43.5 o/u) at Texans
Thursday 8:15 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video
The Bills rode Josh Allen's wild stallion passing and running dominance to victory over the Buccaneers' defense, but the Texans present a tougher challenge in prime time on the road. They can stop the run and pressure him, backing it up with good coverage. He will need to dig deeper to make a few big plays off script. Unfortunately, the Texans don't have the pop with either QB to edge him.
Pick: Bills win 23-20 but fail to cover the spread.

Game of the Week: Buccaneers at Rams (-6.5, 49.5 o/u)
Sunday 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC/Peacock
The Buccaneers are finding new young contributors to boost their offense every week but they are getting a little erratic with Baker Mayfield and also having too many key defensive lapses. That doesn't bode well for taking down a Sean McVay-coached team on the road, but Mayfield will do his best gamer vs. Matthew Stafford.
Pick: Rams win 27-24 but fail to cover the spread.

Lock of the Week: 49ers (-6.5, 47.5 o/u) over Panthers
Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN
The Panthers are a nice story at 6-5 and trying to catch the Buccaneers in the NFC South. But they have their own prime-time problems on the road against a NFC West power. Christian McCaffrey, revenge game aside, is a terrible matchup for Carolina's defense. George Kittle is an even worse one. Offensively, they don't have the passing juice, much like Arizona, to keep up with San Francisco.
Pick: 49ers win 38-17 and cover the spread.

Upset of the Week: Cardinals (+2.5, 47.5 o/u) over Jaguars
Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS
The Cardinals have Jacoby Brissett tossing the ball around the stadium to various weapons and he should get Marvin Harrison Jr. Back. The Jaguars are up and down and tend to play their toughest at home. Arizona can contain Jacksonville's running game and that means Trevor Lawrence is put in a bad spot, maybe without Brian Thomas Jr. Again.
Pick: Cardinals win 23-20.
Steelers at Bears (-3, 45 o/u)
Sunday I p.m. ET, CBS
Aaron Rodgers may not get a chance to try to beat the Bears one more time in Soldier Field to duel Caleb Williams, who has revved up his team to three consecutive victories and first place over Rodgers' former team, the Packers. Chicago has enough defense to handle Pittsburgh's limited offense, while the diversity and explosiveness of the Bears' attack grinds out another win.
Pick: Bears win 24-20 and cover the spread.

Patriots (-7, 50 o/u) at Bengals
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Drake Maye and the Patriots' offense have no reason to cool down against the Bengals' reeling defense, especially now that TreVeyon Henderson and the offensive line have helped make the running game a much bigger factor. Joe Flacco is hitting a wall when facing some more challenging defenses. The Bengals' season is already lost to they will be just looking ahead to Joe Burrow helping them play spoiler down the stretch.
Pick: Patriots win 27-17 and cover the spread.

Giants at Lions (-10.5, 50.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The Lions are back home in the dome against a defense that cannot stop the run vs. Either speed or power backs. The Giants also give up a lot to wide receivers in terms of big plays downfield. That's a terrible 1-2 gut punch vs. Jared Goff, who will be eager to get back on track with Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams boosting him plenty away from the elements and the Eagles.
Pick: Lions win 42-14 and cover the spread.

Vikings at Packers (-6.5, 41.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The Vikings are seeing a rough delayed rookie season for J.J. McCarthy in his second year. He's taking lumps with his struggles under pressure and inaccurate passes. Micah Parsons and the Packers' pass defense won't give him a break in Lambeau Field. Jordan Love got well in New York and will build on that at home.
Pick: Packers win 24-17 and cover the spread.

Seahawks (-13, 40.5 o/u) at Titans
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The Seahawks get this huge road number in their favor as they just missed getting to 5-0 away from Seattle last week. For a long-traveling team, 4-1 is very impressive. Sam Darnold needs to make amends for a rough outing and will make the big plays without big mistakes playing off the run. Meanwhile, Cam Ward can't catch a break facing another well-schemed defense.
Pick: Seahawks win 27-10 and cover the spread.
Colts at Chiefs (-3.5, 49.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The Colts at 8-2 coming off a bye, are still road underdogs to a 5-5 skidding Chiefs team. Kansas City has reached shocking desperation mode with the playoffs getting further out of reach with a home loss here, especially after falling at Buffalo and Denver. The Chiefs will give themselves a chance by slowing down Jonathan Taylor, but it comes down to Patrick Mahomes finding some of his lat close game mojo that's been missing this season.
Pick: Chiefs win 27-24 but fail to cover the spread.
Pick: Chiefs 27, Colts 20
MORE: Chiefs are in serious trouble to miss playoffs after losing to Broncos
Jets at Ravens (-14, 44.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The Ravens get the reduced version of the Jets' defense coming to Baltimore and will welcome that after Lamar Jackson was roughed up in Cleveland. Jackson needs a get-well game and Derrick Henry also goes back to doing his 2024 damage. The Ravens' defense get another break vs. A limited offense.
Pick: Ravens win 31-10 and cover the spread.
MORE: Why Jets are benching Justin Fields for Tyrod Taylor
Browns at Raiders (-3, 37.5 o/u)
Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS
The Browns might need to start one time Raiders' draft prospect of note Shedeur Sanders at QB, which is a great thing.... For the Raiders. Myles Garrett and Cleveland's defense falls to earth on the road, while Maxx Crosby and his teammates will like teeing off on a overwhelmed rookie, whether it's Sanders or Dillon Gabriel.
Pick: Raiders win 16-10 and cover the spread.

Eagles (-4, 50.5 o/u) at Cowboys
Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, Fox
Philadelphia's defense is putting it together with new pieces. Dallas has been bad for much of the season but should finish to be a lot more respectable down the stretch. The Eagles will run well and make some big pass plays, but the Cowboys will also find some answers in a rivalry game, even with the rare big record disparity.
Pick: Eagles win 27-24 but fail to cover the spread.
MORE: Eagles rely on defense to shut down Lions on 'Sunday Night Football'
Falcons (-1, 38.5 o/u) at Saints
Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, Fox
The Falcons are needing to stick with Kirk Cousins in the wake of Michael Penix Jr.'s troubling injury while the Saints will be happy to see more of big-armed rookie Tyler Shough after a win and the bye. Kellen Moore's offense is kicking more into an identity, while the Falcons seem to be all over the place offensively and defensively depending on the week.
Pick: Saints win 20-17.
