NFL odds, lines, point spreads: Updated Week 5 betting information for picking every game image

Heading into Monday night's 49ers-Rams game, underdogs in the NFL continued to cover at a profitable rate, going 8-5-1 against the spread in Week 4. On the season, underdogs have been the way to go for spread bettors, posting a 35-24-3 ATS mark. Regarding totals, UNDERS have still been more profitable than OVERS through the first four weeks, and if you've been blindly betting UNDERS at closing, you've gone 36-26-1. Will that trend continue in Week 5, and if so, which teams do the current odds, spreads, and lines point to for money-making opportunities?

This week's slate kicks off with an AFC matchup between the Broncos (-3) and Colts on Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football. On Sunday, the second international game of the 2022 season takes place in London as the Packers face off against the Giants at 9:30 a.m. ET. After that, we'll have another action-packed 13-game slate where bettors will once attempt to profit off of sides, totals, moneylines, and player props. Remember that these lines will move throughout the week as we get updates on various injuries and as betting limits increase.

Below, we take a look at the latest odds for Week 5 from Caesars Sportsbook and offer up a few early bets to consider for this upcoming week.

NFL best bets for Week 5

Odds as of Monday (10/3) at 1:00 p.m. ET

Vikings -7 (-110) vs. Bears

It's going to be a bit of an adjustment for the Vikings' body clocks to readjust after playing in London, but we still don't trust Chicago's offense to keep pace with Minnesota's. Andy Dalton did have some success against the Vikings' defense, but New Orleans' offense is still more reliable than Chicago's at the moment. Back the Vikings to secure a comfortable home win over their NFC North rival.

Patriots-Lions UNDER 47 (-110)

The Lions' offense continues to put up points while their defense can't stop anybody. It would seem as if a bet on the OVER 47 against New England would come through, but New England's style of play could actually result in this game falling UNDER the current total. The Patriots are going to rely heavily on their ground game with Bailey Zappe likely making his first career start, resulting in this one being a bit lower scoring than the current total suggests.

49ers -5 (-110) @ Panthers

San Francisco is correctly priced in this game, as there isn't really an edge betting the Niners at their current price. With that being said, Carolina's offense is abysmal, and it's going to be tough for them to get to 17 points against a well-rounded 49ers defense. Look for San Francisco to leave Carolina with a TD-plus win.
