NFL mock drafts 2023: Compare the final mocks from Mel Kiper, Daniel Jeremiah, Todd McShay, other experts image

No need to shut your windows. There is a draft in here.

It's draft week, which means the time for rumor, innuendo and mock drafts is (almost) officially over. Until that first pick is made, however, here are few more mock drafts.

Bryce Young is the odds-on favorite to be selection No. 1 overall, but there are plenty of questions at No. 2 and beyond. Recent rumors indicate that the Texans may not take a quarterback at that spot, leaving the fate of C.J. Stroud and other passers — and top players overall — undecided.

The trio of potential first-round tackles may also be in for a bit of a shuffling: Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, Ohio State's Paris Johnson Jr. and Georgia's Broderick Jones could all come off the board in rapid succession — but who will be first is something of a question yet.

The same can be said of the best defenders in the class. Alabama's Will Anderson, Jalen Carter and Tyree Wilson could all go in the top 10, but the order is anyone’s guess entering draft night.

The Carolina Panthers are on the clock — here's how experts see the 2023 NFL Draft playing out once the first round kicks off tonight.

— The Jets trade back and pick up a 2024 first-round pick, making a deal with Minnesota. The Vikings take Anthony Richardson at No. 15.

— Jalen Carter, facing some off-the-field issues, still lands in the top 10, going to the Seahawks at No. 5.

Noteworthy:

— In his previous mock draft, Jeremiah had Hendon Hooker heading to the Vikings. Now, he's out of the first round completely.

— Jaxon Smith-Njigba takes a small tumble and lands in a big-time WR room: He heads to the Buccaneers at No. 19 overall.

— A scenario not many would expect, but it makes all the sense in the world: The Texans trade up to No. 3 to take Will Anderson, this coming after they take C.J. Stroud at No. 2. That would be a home run draft.

Noteworthy:

— After tons of pre-draft hype surrounding Hendon Hooker, McShay has no team opting to select him in the first round.

— A pair of tight ends are first-round prospects: Utah's Dalton Kincaid and Notre Dame's Michael Mayer both are selected, by the Packers and Giants, respectively.

— The defending NFC champs opt to rebuild their defense: The Eagles take pass rusher Nolan Smith at 10 and DB Brian Branch at 30.

Noteworthy:

— Myles Murphy slides all the way to the Chiefs at No. 31. Murphy was considered a top-three prospect at pass rusher when the pre-draft cycle started.

— The Saints go DT — but it's not Bryan Bresee. Instead, they take Michigan's Mazi Smith, a stout run defender.

— Joey Porter spent his entire career playing against the Steelers' chief rival, the Ravens. Now his son will play for them, heading to Baltimore at pick No. 22.

Noteworthy:

— The rumors were right: Houston opts not to take a quarterback at No. 2 overall, instead going with edge rusher Tyree Wilson.

— The Titans trade up to No. 3 for C.J. Stroud, which would cost a pretty penny.

— Anthony Richardson slips to No. 23 overall, going to the Vikings and giving Kevin O'Connell a passer of the future post-Kirk Cousins.
