NFL Combine 2024 schedule, dates, workout times, records, invites & everything else to know image

The NFL never sleeps, and that will be apparent over the next two months. The offseason unofficially kicks off with the NFL Combine this week, which sets the stage for the 2024 NFL Draft in late April.

NFL COMBINE 2024: Live results40 times tracker | Full list of measurements

This draft, more than ever, will be heavily focused on offense. The top of most big boards is littered with quarterbacks, wide receivers, and offensive tackles, giving the most downtrodden franchises opportunities to inject some life into their franchises in April. Can any of those prospects separate themselves in Indianapolis?

While quarterbacks will be the focus even if most top prospects shy away from on-field drills, fans will also get a glimpse of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s athleticism, Joe Alt's size, and Brock Bowers' strength.

Here's what you need to know about the 2024 NFL Combine schedule, as well as the full invite list and a look at the drills to know.

NFL Combine drills

  • 40-yard dash
  • Bench press
  • Three-cone drill
  • Vertical jump
  • 20-yard shuttle
  • Broad jump

The 40-yard dash is largely considered the holy grail of NFL Combine drills, though it certainly doesn't define a player. It serves a purpose for all prospects, however.

Speed is essential for wide receivers and cornerbacks, making the 40-yard dash a significant drill. Offensive linemen will never need to run 40 yards downfield in a game, but their 40 times can give teams a sense of their athleticism.

The three-cone drill does a better job of testing how players can move laterally, with edge rusher being a position of focus. Bench press is more popular among offensive linemen and defensive linemen, as it showcases strength.

Vertical jump and broad jump are tests of a prospect's lower-body strength, while the 20-yard shuttle is a test of agility and explosiveness that could be especially valuable for linebackers and other defensive players who play in space
