Most sacks in NFL season: Myles Garrett surging on record pace with 13 sacks in 4 games for Browns image

Myles Garrett has established himself as one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, and after the Browns' 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, he is within striking distance of a historic feat.

Garrett had three sacks on Sunday against the Raiders and is up to 18 on the season. His 13 sacks in four games is the most in a quarter-season span in NFL history, and he needs only five sacks in six games to hold the NFL single-season sack record of 22.5, which was Michael Strahan in 2001 and tied by T.J Watt in 2021.

If Garrett can maintain his form,  he will redefine the edge rusher position by setting a new benchmark for defensive greatness.

How many sacks does Myles Garrett have?

Garrett had three sacks on Sunday against the Raiders; and has 13 over the past four games, the most over a four-game span in NFL history.

The final exclamation point on Sunday resulted in the Raiders' only turnover of the day, with Garrett hitting Geno Smith and forcing a fumble.

The 2017 No. 1 overall pick and the Browns defense had 10 sacks on the day — the most by any team this season — in a 24-10 win over the Raiders.

Myles Garrett stats

Garrett leads the NFL in sacks with 18.0. He is ahead of Brian Burns Jr. Who ranks second.

Garrett officially broke the Browns' single-season sack record during the team's Week 12 victory. By recording his 18th sack of the season, Garrett surpassed his own previous franchise mark of 16 sacks, a number he had achieved twice before in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

This achievement solidifies his place in Browns history and places him on a historic pace to potentially break the NFL's all-time single-season record of 22.5 sacks with five games remaining in the season.
