There are only a few Monday Night Football matchups remaining in the 2025 season, and the Week 16 edition is set to feature two playoff contenders in opposing conferences.

The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, with each squad holding onto playoff hopes despite varying circumstances. Injuries have been a theme for each; for San Francisco, virtually every big name on its veteran roster has missed some kind of time in 2025.

It's Indianapolis' quarterback situation that will be in the spotlight though, as the 44-year-old Philip Rivers trots back out for his second start after making a shocking return to the NFL in Week 15 as a fill-in starter after Daniel Jones' injury.

After nearly taking down the Seahawks last week, Rivers will be seeking his first win in five years against the 49ers. Meanwhile, Kyle Shanahan's unit will be eyeing a win to come closer to locking in a playoff spot.
