Jayden Daniels' path to becoming one of the brightest stars starts with his family.

The Commanders quarterback has been very public in praising his support system for helping him get to the point where he could become the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024. Additionally, when he won the Heisman Trophy in 2024 after a stellar season for LSU, Daniels' parents were prominently featured throughout the ceremony.

Although he is now a professional, Daniels still relies on his family for important decisions, as evidenced by his mother's business choices. Here's a full breakdown of Daniels' family.

Jayden Daniels mom: Regina Jackson

Daniels' mother is Regina Jackson, who has played a huge role in his life and career.

"Nothing gets past my mama," Daniels told Boardroom in 2024. "She reads people; she doesn't want to put people around me that she doesn't feel will benefit me."

Jackson has two kids, Jayden and his older sister, Bianca.

Jackson remained a huge part of her son's career, not only as a supporter but also as a business manager. She became an NFLPA-certified agent, not to represent Daniels directly but to give the quarterback another advisor in his life.

"The word perseverance is that kid Jayden," Regina said during the Heisman Trophy ceremony. "The passion he has, the resilience to really continue day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute, to really be the best person, best version of himself. Just watching him push, getting up at 5:30 in the morning to be great is really hard to describe. I see it in him every single day and he gets it from his parents."

Becoming an NFLPA-certified agent

Jackson became an NFLPA-certified agent in 2024 when she completed the tests necessary for someone to certify. She has an MBA in concentration entrepreneurship and a master's in public services administration, checking the boxes of having an undergraduate and graduate degree that the NFLPA requires of their agents.

While Jackson isn't Daniels' official agent, this allows her to give her son another person in his life with agent knowledge.

"For her, taking the agent's test is because she wants to be knowledgeable and help her son and guide him through his NFL career," PR representative Denise White said. "It's important for her to have all that knowledge so she can give her son guidance, which will help him focus on the field, and she can help focus off the field for him."

Jayden Daniels dad: Javon Daniels

Javon Daniels is a former football player himself, as he played college football at Iowa State as a cornerback. He was initially recruited by Washington as a 6-2 cornerback with 4.3 speed, but he instead opted to junior college for two years before attending Iowa State.

Javon is a big reason Jayden got into football in the first place, as he coached his son throughout his childhood.

"When he was born, [when] he was old enough to walk, you hand him a ball, and I said, 'this is what you're gonna do,'" Javon said at the Heisman Trophy award show. "He took that ball and ran with it."

However, Javon needed to teach Jayden to control his emotions enough to play such a demanding position like quarterback.

"Just like any other kid, when he was disappointed or frustrated, he would cry. You're upset, you're mad — that's okay. But [crying is] unacceptable when you’re on the field," he said, via The Washington Post. "If I allowed him to process his emotions that way, where they're never discussed, and [he stays] in that type of funk … he doesn't go on to learn to be stoic and be prepared for the moment,"

While Javon wanted his son to be a cornerback, like he was, Jayden instead chose to become a quarterback. In turn, Jayden thanked his dad during his Heisman-winning speech for his coaching and his support.

"Dad, you put a football in my hands when I was young. I know you raised me to be a corner, but hopefully now the decision to play quarterback paid off," Jayden said during his Heisman speech. "You taught me how to play, lead, and be calm no matter the situation, and I know I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for you. So, thank you, I love you."

Javon has four kids, two with Jayden's mother and two from another relationship.

"Today I am proud of my 2nd college graduate," Regina Jackson wrote. "One day we will see her movies on the big screen."
