Eagles star from Ole Miss, A.J. Brown, reveals crazy reason he didn't commit to Georgia Bulldogs image

A.J. Brown played his college football at Ole Miss, famously as a teammate of DK Metcalf.

Now a Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown can look back fondly on the days of being recruited by multiple SEC programs.

And in a recent podcast appearance, Brown revealed a wild reason he chose not to go to Georgia.

"I didn't choose Georgia because I don't like wearing black socks, and that may be crazy, but I don't like wearing black socks," Brown said.

Brown went on: "Putting on black socks with black cleats, it's so hideous to me. When I put on white, I feel so fast, so smooth, just something about it."

Brown went on to play three years at Ole Miss. He led the SEC in receiving yards in consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, combining for 2,572 yards across those two years with a combined 17 touchdowns.

He then went on to be the 51st overall pick in 2019 by the Tennessee Titans.

The amazing thing?

Brown's last year at Ole Miss, 2018, Georgia went 11-3 and finished seventh in the AP poll without him. The Bulldogs could've been even better.

The year before, they were 13-2 and finished No. 2 in the final AP poll.

They were quarterbacked by Jake Fromm both of those seasons.

In 2017, they didn't have a receiver with more than 720 yards (Javon Wims).

In 2018, it was even more mediocre. Riley Ridley led with 570 receiving yards, and future Super Bowl champion Mecole Hardman had 532.

Brown definitely would've been quite the boost.

But instead, he was running wild with the Rebels en route to an incredible NFL career, all because of the socks.
