It's a family tradition for the Trotter family at the NFL Draft.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. followed in his father's footsteps, getting selected by the Eagles in the 2024 NFL Draft, 26 years after his senior.
Trotter Jr., also a linebacker, landed in Philadelphia with the 155th overall pick in the fifth round. He doesn't quite outdo his father's third-round selection, but he finds himself in the same uniform nonetheless.

In addition to the father-son Eagles duo, there's another Trotter son — and linebacker — set to play college football.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. family tree
The Eagles' fifth-round draft pick isn't the only athletic one in his family. He has a family of linebackers with both college and professional experience.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.'s father: Jeremiah Trotter Sr.
The Eagles drafted Trotter Sr. 26 years ago in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft. The No.72 overall pick played eight seasons with the Eagles across three different stints.
He played his first four seasons in Philadelphia before joining Washington for two seasons. He returned to the Eagles for three years, played one season in Tampa Bay, and finished his career with one last year with the Eagles in 2009.
Trotter Sr. donned No. 54 each season aside from his one year with the Buccaneers. He is also in the Eagles Hall of Fame after earning four Pro Bowl appearances and one All-Pro nomination.
Trotter Sr. played collegiate football at Stephen F. Austin.

The younger Trotter brother, Josiah, is also a linebacker. He's entering his freshman season at West Virginia.
If he's to continue the family tradition of landing with the Eagles at the NFL Draft, it can happen as early as the 2027 NFL Draft.
