Davante Adams wife: Devanne Villarreal
Adams met his wife, Devanne Villareal, when the two attended Fresno State together. Adams proposed to Villareal in the Summer of 2017, and the two got married a year later.
Adams and Villareal now have three kids together — two girls and a boy. Villareal is also adamant that Adams is more than the tough exterior that he displays.
"He has a strong, intimidating presence," Villareal said, via Mirin Fader of The Ringer. "But when you get to know him, there’s a lot more to him."
Davante Adams daughter: Daija Leigh
Adams and Villareal had their first child, Daija Leah, in September of 2019, and Adams explains that she immediately changed his life.
"My only fear in life is being away from my daughter," Adams told Mirin Fader for a 2021 Ringer story. "Not being able to have my daughter in my life. I just think about the fact that I kinda have a lot of fears based off of it. All pertaining to her. How much I care, and just value her life."
Adams admits that he initially wanted a son first, but his friends knew that he would be better off with a daughter.
"You need somebody to soften you up," Adams said he was told, via Fader. "Apparently I was too hard."

Davante Adams daughter: Dezi Lynn
Adams' second daughter, Dezi Lynn, was born in April of 2022. Just like with Daija before her, Dezi became motivation for Adams in his work and his life.
"That's what really drives my happiness," Adams told Fader in 2023. "Your kids don't care about how work went. They just care about being with dad."
Davante Adams son: Drayson James
Adams' son Drayson James was born in August of 2024, giving Adams a boy to go along with two daughters. While, Adams was a "girl dad" for five years, he was happy to have a son and believes his relationship with his daughters will help his relationship with his son.
"Now I'm just a dad," he said when his son was born, via the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "It will be an adjustment, but I'm happy I had my girls first. I always wanted to have a boy first, but I'm happy I had the girls first because I think it softened me up and I'll be a little lighter on my boy than maybe I otherwise would have. My friends don't believe that. They think it will be the same, but I'm excited about it."
Davante Adams dad: Douglas Adams
Adams' father may not have been a professional athlete, but he was a respected athlete in his own right. Douglas Adams was a high school basketball player who passed down his athleticism to his son. However, Douglas had his first son, Doug Jr., young, which prevented him from pursuing sports full-time, although he did give his love of basketball to his son.
"One of the best athletes I've ever known," Davante said, via Mirin Fader.

Davante Adams mom: Pamela Brown
Adams mainly lived with his mother, Pamela Brown, as a kid, as she did her best to give her kids a strong upbringing in a tough Palo Alto town.
"We weren’t in a great situation," Adams said, via Fader. "That's what pushed me to be better, to get to a point where she doesn't have to worry and work anymore."
Brown worked two jobs to support her family, which allowed her to move them to a nicer town in a similar area.
"I wanted to show him that life isn't just handed to you on a platter," she told Fader. "You have to work hard to get what you want."

Where is Davante Adams from?
Adams was born and raised in Palo Alto, California, but he moved from East Palo Alto to South Palo Alto when he was eight. Adams didn't grow up in the safest of neighborhoods, and he knows people that couldn't survive the tough circumstances.
"I mean, I grew up with nothing," Adams said, via NFL.com. "Crazy crime rate. Exposed to a lot of stuff that a young kid shouldn't be. Obviously, I would have loved to feel a little bit safer at times in my life. I've got friends that ended up in the two spots you don't want to end up. It's happened with a good percentage of the guys I played Pop Warner with -- they've ended up in the slammer, or worse."
He added that people don't understand the geographical difference between success and failure in that area.
"People hear 'East Palo Alto' and they think, 'Oh, you're from Stanford,'" Adams said. "They don't understand. It's like 'The Lion King': You've got Pride Rock, and then you've got where the hyenas are. It ain't too far, but it's a completely different world. That's the best way I can explain it."
Adams attended Palo Alto High School before staying close to home and attending Fresno State in college.
