The Washington Commanders will have to go into the foreseeable future without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. He suffered a dislocated elbow at the end of a blowout loss in Week 9, and backup quarterback Marcus Mariota will be under center in his absence.
Mariota last filled in for Daniels in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs. In the 28-7 loss, he threw for 213 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Mariota also led the team with 28 rushing yards on eight carries.
Meanwhile, the Lions are coming off their third loss of the season. They fell 27-24 to the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC North divisional game that they needed to win. The Lions move to 5-3 on the season and need to not look past the injury-riddled Commanders to a Week 11 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Lions tend to have a two-headed monster in the backfield, but they disappeared in the Week 9 loss. Jahmyr Gibbs had nine carries for only 25 yards, while David Montgomery mustered only 40 yards on 11 carries. Montgomery at least had a rushing touchdown, but the tandem will need to get in sync on Sunday to give the Lions a better chance against the Commanders.
