Bo Nix stats today: Broncos QB delivers another fourth-quarter comeback in win over Chiefs image

The Broncos landed a crunching blow to the Chiefs' postseason hopes on Sunday evening, capturing a 22-19 comeback win against their divisional rivals.

Bo Nix, despite not throwing a touchdown pass, was central to the result, contributing all across the terrain -- particularly in the final period of action.

Nix was efficient across the last 15 minutes. His heroics on Denver's final drive proved noteworthy against Andy Reid's squad. They also etched his name as one of the league's premier fourth-quarter operators.

Here's what you need to know.

Bo Nix, Broncos comeback, explained

If there is one thing Nix has been known for in his still burgeoning NFL career, it's his fourth-quarter heroics. The Broncos hurler tends to struggle in the opening three quarters. But in the fourth, he tends to come to life, ripping opposing defenses apart with precise passing and surprisingly agile running.

Nix entered Sunday's matchup with seven fourth-quarter comebacks to his name. He added another against Kansas City, leading the Broncos back from a three-point fourth-quarter deficit.

The margin Nix and Denver faced wasn't all that daunting. Still, leading the Broncos beyond the defending AFC champions is no small feat.

Nix started his exploits with less than seven minutes left, bringing Denver 19 yards down the field before Will Lutz split the uprights with a kick from distance.

Lutz repeated his feat some four minutes later to give Denver the win. Nix was pivotal to facilitating Lutz's successful effort, bringing the Broncos down the field with a barrage of passes. Some were of the short pass variety, while others -- namely throws to Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin -- spanned across dozens of yards.

Nix's impact was laid out as Lutz's attempt for the warm embrace of the field goal net.
