Are there NFL games today? What's next on football Christmas schedule image

Santa Claus is coming.

So is the NFL on Christmas.

That rarely used to be a combination. Christmas Day was reserved for the NBA.

These days, though, the NFL has done its best to take over any day it can. That includes Christmas.

With it being a relatively new phenomenon, fans are likely wondering just exactly when these games will be played.

Santa doesn't have to worry. He won't miss anything while he's delivering presents.

Are there NFL games today?

No, there are no NFL games on Wednesday, Dec. 24. The league is off on Christmas Eve.

If you want football on this day, you'll have to watch California play Hawaii in a college football bowl game this evening.

What's the NFL Christmas schedule?

The NFL has three games on Christmas Day:

  • Cowboys at Commanders, 1 p.m.
  • Lions at Vikings, 4:30 p.m.
  • Broncos at Chiefs, 8:15 p.m.

You can see why the league scheduled all three of those games for a marquee viewing day.

The only problem for the NFL is that the stakes on all three of those contests are a decent amount lower than expected.

After those three games, the NFL will also play two games on Saturday, Dec. 27, as part of Week 17.
