The 2026 NFL Draft was supposed to have a strong class of quarterbacks, but that didn't hold true.

Maybe the 2027 group, headlined potentially by Arch Manning and Dante Moore, will do better.

The 2026 class was knocked down by Moore's decision to return to Oregon, which in turn props up 2027.

Manning, at Texas, opened the college football season viewed as the potential No. 1 pick in this year's draft. Now, it'll be next year where he might chase that spot.

"He'll be regarded as the No. 1 quarterback prospect and perhaps the No. 1 overall player," ESPN's Matt Miller wrote on Thursday.

Moore could've gone in the top-two picks if he stayed in this year's draft, but he too has opted for more seasoning.

"The decision to return to school is wise, as NFL scouts are adamant that professional success is linked to college experience, with 25 starts becoming the baseline," Miller writes. "Moore has 20 career starts (15 this season plus five at UCLA in 2023) and is a prime candidate to be the No. 1 pick in 2027."

Then you've got a guy like Brendan Sorsby, who transferred from Cincinnati to Texas Tech rather than go into the draft.

"He's loaded with potential and could very well be the next transfer quarterback to win a Heisman Trophy and be an early-round pick," Miller writes.

If Trinidad Chambliss gets his waiver passed to stay in school another year, he could put himself in the picture. So could Sam Leavitt, who transferred from Arizona State to LSU.

And there are always a couple surprise risers, too. It should be a fun QB class to track.
