A.J. Brown isn't the most vociferous of talkers. But atop the verdant plains of Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles standout has loudly proclaimed himself to be one of the league's best pass-catchers.

Brown showed flashes of brilliance with the Titans, notching 1,000-yard campaigns in two off his first three seasons. But it was his move to Philadelphia that brought about his ascension to superstardom. Accolades have followed in his wake in the years since; Pro Bowl appearances, All-Pro consideration and, most notably, that all-important Lombardi Trophy.

What comes next for Brown remains to be seen. Awards seem a likely refrain. Regardless, as his career goes on, he'll carry his family with him, from his parents and siblings to his partner and children.

With that, here's what you need to know about Brown's family tree.

A.J. Brown fiancee: Kelsey Riley

A.J. Brown's fiancee is Kelsey Riley. She, too, comes from an athletic background, having starred on Texas Southern's softball team. A member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Riley was friends with famed rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

It's unclear quite when Brown and Riley's relationship started. But by 2022, the pair were an item, taking to social media to proclaim their love for one another.

Riley attended nursing school and has worked in the medical field, working at a nursing home, as a freelance patient care coordinator and, most recently, as a patient access representative at a medical center in Houston.

Riley and Brown have two children together: daughter, Jersee and son, A.J. Jr.

Engagement celebration

Brown and Riley made waves in May 2025. The duo took the next step in their relationship, with Brown proposing to Riley in front of a crowd of their family and friends. Accompanying Brown and Riley on the stage was Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend, who serenaded the couple as Brown dropped on one knee.

A.J. Brown daughter: Jersee Brown

Brown and Riley have one daughter together, Jersee. She was born in May 2020. She's been a steady presence in his life in the years since her birth, lending her athletic skills to Brown during a warmup session  back in 2022.

During training camp ahead of the 2024 season, Brown paid homage to his daughter. The Ole Miss alum sported pink cleats to make it easier for Jersee to follow along as he raced across the field. The ensuing exchange could make even the most hardened of observers weep.

Jersee's godfather is Brown's longtime friend — and Eagles teammate — Jalen Hurts.

A.J. Brown son: A.J. Brown Jr.

Brown and Riley have one son together, A.J. Jr. He was born in September 2022.

He seems predestined for baseball stardom. At least, that's what Brown suggested when he posted a humorous video telling A.J. Jr. what it would take for him to pursue baseball as a profession.

“You want to go to baseball school?” Brown asked his son in a video posted on Instagram in March 2025. A.J. Jr, was still game to the prospect, at least until Brown told him that would mean saying goodbye to his mother. That brought out the tears. That brought out the wails.

“It’s all right,” said Brown, a former MLB draft pick. “It’s going to hurt to be great. It’s going to be OK though, you understand? You’ve got to grind for it, that’s your first lesson. You understand it’s going to hurt, it hurts to be great, son. She’s going to be there for lunch and dinner. We’re homeschooling, no parties, no girls, no friends, no nothing, just baseball, you got it?”

The clip was clearly tongue-in-cheek, little more than a bit of banter between Brown and Riley at his son's expense. But given his mother and father's passion for the diamond, it wouldn't be surprising to see the younger A.J. follow a similar pathway in the future.

A.J. Brown dad: Arthur Brown Sr.

Brown's father is Arthur Brown Sr. A.J. is canonically a junior, although not in the traditional sense; his middle name is Jauan (pronounced ju-wan). But it was misspelled on Brown's birth certificate. The title reads as Juan on the document, leading to a lifetime of mispronunciations.

Regardless, the nature of Arthur Brown Sr.'s relationship with his son is best reflected in A.J.'s athletic pursuits. A.J. was something of a phenom with a bat in his hands, taking after his father, who gravitated towards America's pastime as a youth. A Chicago native who moved to Starkville, Miss., as a child, Arthur — known as "June Bug" and "Bug" to his family members — played wide receiver in high school, even sharing the field with Jerry Rice for a fleeting moment. But the diamond was his haven.

The same could be said about A.J., who ripped baseballs into the wooded area that surrounded the makeshift infield his father erected for his children. The Browns had 165 acres of land in their possession. They made sure to make use of it.

A.J. Brown mom: Josette Robertson

Brown's mother is Josette Robertson. While she herself wasn't an athlete, her siblings were; two of her brothers stand 6-7 and 6-9, respectively.

Robertson is also an Illinois native who relocated to Starkville in her youth. She and her ex-husband were strict disciplinarians, Brown's sisters, Reva and Shared, told the Philadelphia Inquirer. They tasked their children with daily chores, early curfews and limits on phone calls.

Brown, significantly younger than his sisters, didn't face anywhere near the scrutiny that his sisters did. Perhaps it was a reflection of his seemingly immaculate birth; neither Robertson nor Arthur planned on having anymore children after his sisters were born.

So, after Robertson found out she was pregnant again, there was little more she could do but apologize to a higher power.

“I apologized to God after finding out about the pregnancy,” Robertson said. “We said we were through. Two girls was gonna be it. But we joke now and I tell him his daddy, that he prayed for him, that he was praying against me so he could have somebody to carry on his name.”

A.J. Brown sisters

Brown has two sisters: Reva Claybrook and Shareda Robertson.

Reva Claybrook

Brown's eldest sister is Reva Claybrook. In many ways, she's a chip off the old block for Arthur, having flocked to a glistening sporting surface as a youth. It just happened to be the basketball court, instead.

The Brown siblings embraced their rural upbringing as children, likening the 165-acre plot of land they grew up on to a sort of idyllic setting, per the Inquirer. Reva played basketball, Shareda took to the softball diamond and A.J. dovetailed between baseball and football. When they weren't on their sporting terrain of choice, they were in school or 16th Section Missionary Baptist Church, a one-level brickstone dwelling surrounded by trees and bushes. Reva and Shareda sang on the choir while Arthur and Josette served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher, respectively.

Shareda Robertson

Brown's middle sister is Shareda Robertson. She also shined on the diamond and hardwood, starring for Starkville High School's softball and basketball teams. She and her brother were thick as thieves as youngsters, even despite their age difference. They'd bounce around in the family trampoline with their pit bull, Kobe.

Where is A.J. Brown from?

Brown hails from Starkville, the 16th-most populous state in Mississippi. He attended Starkville High School as a teenager, following in the footsteps of other notable athletes like former Chiefs standout Willie Gay and former NBA veteran Travis Outlaw, both of whom grew up within two miles of Brown.
