TL;DR

  • Garrett Wilson is out for Week 13 due to a hyperextended knee injury.
  • He is on injured reserve and must miss at least four games.
  • Wilson is eligible to return from injured reserve in Week 15.
  • His return is possible in Week 15, but depends on the Jets' playoff status and injury risk.

It has been a brutal season for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Not only is he stuck on one of the worst offenses in the NFL, but Wilson has also been in and out of the lineup after never having missed a game during the first three years of his career.

Wilson sustained a hyperextended knee during Week 6, causing him to sit out several games before he aggravated the injury in Week 10 and was subsequently moved to injured reserve.

Here's what we know about Wilson's prospects of returning in Week 13.

Is Garrett Wilson expected to play in Week 13?

No, Wilson will not be back in Week 13.

Because of his placement on injured reserve, Wilson is forced to miss at least four games.

Having been inactive for Weeks 11 and 12, Wilson must still sit out two additional games before he can be reinstated. With this in mind, Wilson will be eligible to be taken off the injured reserve list in Week 15.

Although Wilson's availability upon becoming eligible isn't certain, reports from ESPN's Rich Cimini indicated the Jets' receiver would be sidelined for three to four weeks due to his recent injury, suggesting a possibility of his return in Week 15.

The Jets face a choice regarding Wilson's potential return, given their playoff elimination. Reinstating him for inconsequential games carries the risk of another injury, which could have repercussions for his 2026 season.

However, head coach Aaron Glenn is focused on winning, making it highly probable he'll be eager to reintegrate his top wide receiver.
