Justin Fields' tenure with the New York Jets is over, after a 2-7 record as a starter in 2025.
Head coach Aaron Glenn moved the former Ohio State Buckeye to the bench in favor of Tyrod Taylor, who will be under center in Week 12 when the Jets take on the Baltimore Ravens.
It's highly unlikely he will return to the Jets after his brutal stretch and will be playing for another franchise next season. But where could Fields end up in 2026?
Ravens tabbed as potential Justin Fields landing spot
CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo tabbed the Baltimore Ravens as a potential Fields landing spot in 2026 if the Jets were to part ways with their opening-day starter.
"Fields would give Baltimore another option behind Lamar Jackson in the event the two-time league MVP has another injury that would cause him to miss time. The Ravens' current backup is Tyler Huntley, a former Pro Bowler who led Baltimore to a season-saving win over the Bears back in Week 8," wrote DeArdo.
"Like Huntley and Jackson, Fields is exceptional with his feet, which should make him a natural fit inside Baltimore's offense. Like Huntley, one would expect that offensive coordinator Todd Monken wouldn't have to make too many changes to the game for Fields, whose 1,143 yards rushing during the 2022 season are second to only Jackson's 1,206 yards during the 2019 season in terms of single-season rushing yards by a quarterback."
Fields would be the perfect backup behind Lamar Jackson, and would even have the opportunity to learn behind a former league MVP.
He certainly provides higher upside than Tyler Huntley, and would step into the Ravens' run-heavy scheme seamlessly if given the chance to learn it.
It's unlikely Baltimore would trade for Fields, who is under contract for one more season in New York. But if the Jets cut him and the former first-round pick can sign where he pleases, the Ravens would be a perfect destination.
