Man, it's really been tougher for the New York Jets than we'd even give credit for.
How is that being measured? In this case, punts.
The Jets took on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon to open the NFL regular season in Week 1.
And they did something they hadn't done since 1991.
They had a puntless half.

That's right: Zero punts for Austin McNamara.
According to the Jets' communications team, they hadn't had a game with no punts in the first half since 1991.
That's really hard to do, and it comes in a game that had the lowest projected betting points total of the week.
But the offense, led by new QB Justin Fields, was sharp.

The Jets could pretty much gain yards by rushing whenever they wanted to, which helped keep the Jets ahead of the sticks and eventually keep the chains moving.
If New York can play more halves this season without punting, they'll have a better season than anyone was expecting.
McNamara might want to do something, but at least he's the holder. He got some action there as the Jets kept creating placekicking opportunities.
