The Cincinnati Bengals will miss the playoffs for the third straight season. The continued failures seemed to boil over for quarterback Joe Burrow earlier in the month when he seemed to hint at wanting to move on from the Bengals, or from football all together.
"If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing this," Burrow told reporters. "I have been through a lot. If it's not fun, then what am I doing it for? That is the mindset I am trying to bring to the table."
This led to speculation of a potential trade or Burrow forcing himself out of Cincinnati. If he were to to that, CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones revealed the potential market of most-likely teams to be involved.
"Teams that figure to be in the quarterback market include the Raiders, Browns, Jets, Dolphins and Cardinals," Jones writes. "The Steelers, Colts, Rams and Vikings could also all be in need of a quarterback depending upon how the early offseason plays out. And teams that have a quarterback today could also be interested in one of the best players in football. After all, if Cincinnati were to ever trade Burrow, the Bengals would be in need of a quarterback themselves."
Jones circles back to the Jets, saying they have the most draft capital amongst the quarterback-needy teams.
"No team has more draft capital than the Jets," Jones writes. "Gang Green has two first-round and two second-round picks in 2026. In 2027, the Jets have three first-round picks. The five combined picks -- one of which is currently the No. 5 pick in April -- would be enough to acquire nearly any player in the NFL if he were made available."
Should the Jets blow the Bengals away with an offer, perhaps they pull the trigger. However, it feels very unlikely that Cincinnati would be willing to get rid of one of the best quarterbacks in football.
