Jets should look at Justin Jefferson if frustration continues to show image

It hasn't been the ideal season for the Minnesota Vikings, especially after a season ago saw them as one of the best teams in the NFL. Ultimately, the Vikings' decision to move on from Sam Darnold clearly hasn't been the right one just yet, as youngster and second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy hasn't been the guy they've been looking for.

McCarthy still has plenty to figure out in the NFL, considering this is his first season under center due to dealing with a knee injury during his first year in the league.

Still, it could also frustrate some players on the roster, including Justin Jefferson.

Last week, Jefferson shared a post on Instagram where he made the catch of the year in 2023.

When asked about why he posted that, Jefferson said that he just wants to get back to loving football on Sundays and making big plays.

“Just wanted to get back to that kid phase of overly loving football, overly loving being out there on Sundays, making the big plays. Just being part of this great organization. Just wanting to get back mentally into that mode,” Jefferson told reporters.

These questions come after Jefferson was seen not attempting to make a play and looking frustrated when McCarthy was picked off against the Ravens

Why the Jets make sense

He also cleared the air with that, simply stating that he just wants to win and he's a competitor.

“I’m not really mad at the situation that I’m in, or I’m not mad at the players that we have or the plays that’s being called. Of course I’m mad after an interception, you want me to be happy and go chase him down?” Jefferson questioned.

“I want to win, I’m an ultra competitor. A lot of people that don’t play this game, don’t play sports don’t understand the competitive side of it.”

Given the Vikings haven’t been competitive, it’s only fair to wonder if he might eventually ask out. If it happens and the New York Jets believe they can find their quarterback in the offseason, whoever it might be, New York would make a lot of sense for a star like Jefferson.
