Jets have perfect chance to snap 'puzzling' turnover drought vs. Dolphins image

The New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins are going head-to-head in Week 14 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. While this matchup doesn't have massive playoff impacts, it does have some interesting statistics and streaks at stake.

With the cold weather proving to be a hindrance to the Dolphins in recent years, a 0-7 record in their last seven games with the temperature at kickoff under 45 degrees, the Jets have an advantage over the Dolphins thanks to the 40-degree forecast.

While the Dolphins look to snap their cold-weather streak, Rich Cimini of ESPN highlights how the Jets are looking to snap a "puzzling" streak of their own.

"A big topic of conversation around the Jets this week is how to create turnovers," Cimini reports. "They have only two takeaways, the fewest through 12 games in NFL history. Every other team has at least seven."

The Jets' lack of turnovers is a big issue, and one of the main reasons why there's been a lack of turnovers for the Jets' defense this season is the lack of interceptions. The Jets have zero this season. Aaron Glenn called the interception drought "puzzling."

But, with the Dolphins coming to town (along with sub-45-degree temperatures), the Jets' defense has a real chance to snap this interception drought.

Tua Tagovailoa is tied for the NFL lead for most interceptions thrown this season, with 14 through 12 games so far. As a team, the Dolphins have 18 turnovers, which is top-ten in the NFL at seventh overall.

If there were ever a time for the Jets to get a turnover, it would be in Week 14 against the Dolphins. They are facing a team in an environment they've struggled with in recent years, and more importantly, a quarterback who is prone to turning the ball over.
