The New York Jets have had a disappointing season so far, with a 3-11 record, and trading away multiple defensive stars at the NFL Trade deadline.
While things haven't gone well in year one under Aaron Glenn, the future could be bright with all of the draft capital and the potential of a franchise quarterback.
Change is coming after 2025, and for Jets linebacker, and brother of Quinnen Williams, Quincy Williams, a report from Rich Cimini of ESPN points to his time in New York potentially coming to an end this offseason.
Jets considering letting Quincy Williams go this offseason
The Jets have signed Jeremy Ruckert and Josh Myers to contract extensions, and with the future in mind, the status of the last remaining Williams brother on the Jets roster comes into question. But Cimini poured cold water on such a deal.
"It won't be Quincy Williams," Cimini writes, "at least not now, if ever. While the former All-Pro linebacker is open to returning to the Jets, he said scheme fit will be a huge factor."
This season hasn't just been a rough one for the Jets; Williams has also struggled in 2025. Not only was his brother traded away at the deadline, but Williams was shortly thereafter benched.

He's now back in the starting lineup and playing decently well, with 62 tackles and 3.5 sacks this season, but he's been a far cry from his former All-Pro self.
A huge part of that has been the scheme fit. With Robert Saleh's defense, Williams thrived. But with the recently fired Steve Wilks as defensive coordinator, Williams struggled.
He's still put up a decent statistical season, with eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and six passes defended. But, compared to his normal play, it's been a struggle.
Those scheme issues, and the departure of his brother, could lead the All-Pro linebacker to seek out a new team this offseason.
The Jets aren't going to offer him an extension, and with the team looking to get younger under Glenn, the 30-year-old linebacker is likely to be moved on from this offseason.
