The New York Jets are poised to finish the 2025 season on a sour note, with two losses likely coming against divisional opponents to close out the year.
But, looking into the future, with ample money and draft picks, they could build an interesting contender with some good roster moves.
Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic revealed one such area expecting change: the defense. Not only is change coming, but Rosenblatt urges Jets fans to expect "significant" change to the defense after 2025.
Jets expected to make significant roster moves on defense after 2025
"They'll have plenty of cap space ($90 million) and draft capital (four picks in the first two rounds) to load up on talent." Rosenblatt writes. "There will be significant roster turnover - especially on defense."
Some of those defensive moves have already happened, with Michael Carter II, Sauce Gardner, and Quinnen Williams all being traded during the 2025 season.
But, beyond those moves, a lot more could be coming this offseason. Harrison Phillips, Khalen Saunders, Michael Clemons, Quincy Williams, and Jermaine Johnson could all be on the move in some capacity.
The secondary could use a revamp as well, and there's no telling how many moves Glenn and Darren Mougey will make this offseason to improve the defense.

If there's one major issue they need to address, other than the expected pass rush issues, it's finding defensive backs that can force an interception.
With 0 through 15 games, the Jets' defense has made NFL history already. They desperately need better cornerback and safety play, along with more pass rush, this offseason.
It's going to be an overall busy offseason for Mougey, and as seen by their trade deadline moves, the Jets won't be shy about making aggressive moves.
A lot of turnover is coming for the Jets' defense, ironically, with the goal of forcing more turnovers in 2026 and beyond.
