The New York Jets are in the middle of a rough 2025 season, and at 3-13, with one week to go, there is a lot on the minds of the organization as the season comes to a close.
While Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey are going nowhere, the player personnel could change in a big way in the coming months. One such player to monitor is running back Breece Hall.
He's reached 1,000 rushing yards this season, the first Jets running back to do so since 2015. Hall is also a free agent and could be on the move after Week 18. But, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Hall has been downgraded this week to out.
Jets to be without Breece Hall in regular season finale
"The Jets have downgraded RB Breece Hall to out, as the pending free agent now sees the end of his 2025 season with 1,065 yards and four TDs," Rapoport reports.
Hall has had a strong 2025 season, but it's coming to a close one week earlier than expected, as he's been downgraded to out with a knee issue.
While the Jets weren't great in 2025, Hall had a strong season. He ran for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns on 243 carries, and added 350 yards and one touchdown on 36 catches.
The 24-year-old running back is entering free agency this offseason. That is, unless the Jets decide to franchise tag him.

They didn't trade him at the deadline, much to the dismay of Hall and interested teams. That decision hinted at the Jets' wish to keep him beyond 2025.
While the jury is still out on whether the Jets will tag Hall or try to extend him, the Jets' star running back is one to watch this offseason.
With Hall and backup running back Isaiah Davis's absence, the Jets will rely upon Khalil Herbert and Kene Nwangwu in Week 18 against the Bills.
Hall is out for Week 18 and might've played his final game in a Jets uniform in Week 17 against the New England Patriots. It was a 111-yard rushing day with one touchdown in a blowout loss, an emblematic defeat for the Jets and Hall this season.
