The New York Jets welcomed back wide receiver Garrett Wilson in Week 10, but his return was not what the team had hoped for.
Not only did Wilson not record a single catch in the win over the Cleveland Browns, he exited the contest early with a knee injury.
Bear in mind, Wilson had just missed two games with a hyperextended knee, so the fact he left with a knee issue was troubling news from the jump.
On Monday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed Wilson has indeed re-injured his knee and is set for testing on Monday.
"Garrett Wilson came out with a reaggravation of that knee injury," Rapoport said. "You do wonder if he's going to miss some time just to get fully, fully healed. But likely going to have tests to determine that later today."
This is obviously bad, bad news for Wilson's chances of playing in Week 11.
More likely than not, he's going to need time to get right after injuring the same knee once again, so it's plausible he misses at least one contest.
After the win over Cleveland, head coach Aaron Glenn said he was hopeful Wilson would be able to play in Week 11 against the New England Patriots
"Hopefully, he'll be good to be able to play this week, but I don't want to stamp that just yet," Glenn, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
That is basically coach speak for "I have no idea if he'll play," so take that as you will.
Right now, we'd say Wilson has less than a 50/50 chance of playing, but we'll know more on Wednesday when the Jets drop their first injury report of the week.
If Wilson doesn't play, the Jets' already precarious situation at wide receiver will be even worse, as Josh Reynolds is on injured reserve and Allen Lazard is a mystery after he was a healthy scratch yet again on Sunday.
If all three of those players sit, it'll be up to rookie Arian Smith and newly-acquired second-year wideout Adonai Mitchell, assuming Mitchell actually plays after he was a healthy scratch in Week 10.
