New York Jets' Brady Cook achieved a milestone that every quarterback dreams about coming into the league: throwing their first touchdown pass in their first NFL start.

That took place for Cook towards the end of the first quarter of the game between the Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he connected with wide receiver Adonai Mitchell for a 9-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7 at the time.

Since then, the Jags have reached the end zone again, and the score is currently 24-10, as the Jets defense has not had an answer for Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense.

More New York Jets News:

Although Cook got his first touchdown throw, he has still mightily struggled in the contest to get decent flow in the game, only throwing for 74 total yards at the moment on 9/12 pass attempts.

The former Mizzou Tiger got the start after injuries to other Jets' quarterbacks, Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor. Even though this is the first start for Cook, it is his second game of action after he came in during last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins. In that game, he struggled, throwing two interceptions while tallying 130 yards.

Cook was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Jets a month after the draft, and has proved to come in handy with the uncertainty at the quarterback situation with injuries and the benching of Fields.

In Missouri, Cook played five seasons with the Tigers and nearly threw for 10,000 yards while leading his team to multiple bowl game appearances.
