Despite not being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs just yet, the New York Jets' season is virtually over.
Some fans at this point of the season are rooting for the team to lose, hoping for a better draft selection come April.
But not head coach Aaron Glenn. As a former NFL player, he knows intentionally losing is not an option.
Aaron Glenn says 'you play the game to win'
In a press conference reminiscent of former Jets head coach Herm Edwards' famous "you play to win the game" rant, Glenn stressed that coaches and players are focused on stacking wins, and not draft positioning.
"I'm gonna give you a line that you guys have heard before: you play the game to win. It's just not in a coach or player's mentality to go out there and lose games, we're not built that way," Glenn told the press.
"We're built to go out there and play as hard as we can to try to get as many wins as we can. And then we let everything else take care of itself as far as drafting and all that, but any time we step on the grass, we're trying to improve."
Obviously, tanking isn't even a thought in the minds of any player or coach over in Florham Park, New Jersey.
The Jets, despite their record, will be walking into each of their remaining games with the intention of winning.
And to quote Edwards one last time-
"I don't care if you don't have any wins, you go play to win."
